Meet the Team
Little Oldway has a strong family ethos. The current Managing Director, Leanne, grew up playing in the garden and chatting to the residents; and in 2018 she and her husband took over the management of the care home from her parents.
Our dedicated, experienced staff are an important part of the Little Oldway family. Some of our team members have cared for their own relatives here, such is their trust in the setting that we provide.
Leanne Knowles
Managing Director
Leanne took over the management of Little Oldway from her parents, Jackie and Barry, in 2018. She is a qualified paediatric nurse with 19 years’ experience in the NHS.
As a child, Leanne visited the home regularly – just as her own young children now do! When she is not at work she loves spending time with them at the beach and exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.
Morag
Care Manager
Morag has worked in care since she was 13, but has never had a day off sick! She spent 11 years as a Senior Carer at Little Oldway before progressing to Deputy Manager and, currently, Care Manager. She holds NVQ levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Morag is passionate about her clients and their individual needs; and her own grandmother was cared for at Little Oldway. When she is not caring for people, she likes nothing better than spending time with her many pets.
Jade
Head of Care
Jade is Morag’s daughter. She has worked at Little Oldway for ten years and – like her Mum – has never had a day off sick. She started as a Kitchen Porter and has since progressed to become a Senior Carer. She holds an NVQ level 3.
Away from work, Jade loves baking and we’re always hoping that she will bring some of her creations in to share!
Shantelle
Team Leader
Shantelle is a ray of sunshine and a real advocate of the home’s friendly, warm and caring atmosphere. Our residents soon warm to her bubbly personality and you certainly know when she is working, thanks to the chatter and laughter that accompany her around the building.
She started her career with Little Oldway in the kitchen and is now working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science. Already trained to NVQ Level 3 in Care, Shantelle is always looking to progress personally and professionally.
Craig
Carer
Craig had no experience of care work when he joined us in 2012, but thanks to the guidance of our experienced carers he quickly became a valuable member of the team. Craig loves his job and looks forward to coming to work to spend time with his colleagues and clients.
In his spare time, Craig enjoys hanging out with his children, football, walking and music.
Sarah
Carer
Sarah has been a carer at Little Oldway for 15 years and holds an NVQ level 3. Friendly, enthusiastic and empathetic, she epitomises the qualities we look for in our carers. Her mum was cared for at Little Oldway recently, so she has a genuine understanding of the importance of her role for our clients and their families.
Sarah is a real people person and loves interacting with our clients and their guests. In her spare time she reads lots of autobiographies too!
Andy
Head Chef
Andy is one of our brilliant chefs, he is a passionate chef who has worked in Care for a long time, even in Spain.
Andy has worked in every level of catering/hospitality and holds a Degree in Hotel Catering and International Management. In his spare time he loves to jump on a surfboard.
