Statement of Purpose

Our aim is to provide quality residential care and services for our clients in a homely, relaxing environment.

The key objective is to promote an individual lifestyle that is as independent as possible; one that maintains social and community links and the dignity, privacy and rights of choice (including the right to refuse) of the client.

Where possible, we use a client-centred approach and involve the client’s family and friends in order to provide the best quality care.

Philosophy of Care

Care at Little Oldway is for those individuals who, for various reasons, are unable to remain at home for long or short periods of time.

We try our utmost to ensure that our residential services are as homely and relaxing as possible, and that staff are fully trained to fulfil the individual needs of each of our clients.

We provide 24-hour, personalised care that is adapted to each client’s individual requirements. We aim to support past positive experiences and memories; encourage socialising with other clients in the home; and foster the development of friendships.

Moving into Residential Care

We fully understand that moving from one’s own home into residential care can be an emotional experience, so we aim to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Your Pre-assessment Visit

We offer all prospective clients a pre-assessment visit. A member of staff (usually the Care Manager) will visit you at home to discuss your hopes and wishes for your care with you and your family . We’ll discuss your normal daily routine, the food you like, any medication you need and the hobbies you enjoy.
